Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in my everyday life. Home, travel, food, lifestyle.

A CLEANING SATURDAY

A CLEANING SATURDAY

It was a quiet day at home. The first day of the four-day weekend for my children. My son slept in for a while.

After a simple breakfast of bagels with avocado, my son retreated to his room and I remained in the living room and kitchen areas. The original plan was to go window shopping for an early start to Christmas. However, I decided to push that to another weekend when the girls would be here. So, we went nowhere today. And that was just fine.

My son started to clean his room. The main thing was the extra twin mattress, which he put under his bed. The mattress his sister sleeps on when she comes over. There wasn’t too much to clean, as his room is not the typical messy teenage bedroom. But he continued cleaning and finished with his bathroom.

In the meantime, I was busy consolidating papers and other things into boxes. Throwing away one beaten up box and flattening two others to take to the garage at some point. It wasn’t much, but it was a start.

Besides reading a few more pages of a psychology book, it was basically a cleaning Saturday. Sometimes we need one of those days where we get that sense of accomplishment. A day to get done the things we normally put off doing until sometime in the future.
