ADAPT AND ACCEPT
As soon as the sun made its presence known this morning, I grabbed my knitting needles with my latest project that I started last night and knit for an hour and a half. It was early and there was nothing else I wanted to do at that time.
Later in the morning when my son awoke, we ate creamy wheat with light brown sugar and Supreme Saigon Cinnamon. Otherwise known as ‘griz’, in Croatian. A quick and easy to make breakfast food. We needed a break from the daily bread making of the past two weeks, so I opted for a simpler option.
With only one hurried run to the store, the rest of the day was spent indoors. For a while in the late afternoon, dark clouds loomed overheard and threatened to pour rain down upon us. But it was merely a threat. However, the overcast sky was the perfect backdrop for taking some photos of yarns for my upcoming projects this month. I’m starting to wonder if I will be able to make my goal of double the number of hats from last month, as I will be taking a week-long break from knitting. Nonetheless, I will try to reach my goal. Or at least get close to it.
The rest of the day was filled with pizza dough making and assembling and baking the pizzas on hot stones in a 500F oven. And more knitting, as I waited for the dough to rise. As we sat outside on our balcony eating dinner, we watched the colours of the sky turn to beautiful pink and orange. It was a stunning display.
I miss the many trees we had at the other apartment. Particularly, the one directly in front of the living room window, where I would photograph my yarns and hats. And also, the other trees that could be seen from the balcony, where I would photograph the setting sun in the evenings. But life moves on. Things change. We learn to adapt and accept the change.
