AT LEAST SOMETHING
‘How was your day’, my son asked as we sat on the balcony eating a late dinner.
‘Productive’, I replied, as I enjoyed the large plateful of salad with smoky Ranch dressing. It was too late to eat anything else tonight.
It was also too dark and unpleasantly warm for it being two hours before midnight. 29 degrees Celsius is still far too hot for spending much time outside. Both of us look forward to the cold weather later in the year. When we can sit outside wrapped in blankets, whilst sipping hot coffee to keep warm.
We returned home late after having taken my younger daughter some crepes that I made for this morning’s special Sunday breakfast. Three were filled with ricotta cheese mixture. The one I usually make with lemon zest and caster sugar. Another crepe was plain, so that my daughter can add her own caster sugar. Experience had proven that adding sugar beforehand was not a good idea as it seemed to have melted in transit.
In addition to the crepes, I made the strong and black Croatian coffee that we used to have. A change from the past several weeks, where we have made cappuccinos every day. I drank most of it, as my son thought it a bit too strong.
After our late breakfast, I decided to make some space in my room. Not much, but at least something. Enough to see a difference. In moving the 20-drawer cabinet from the front entrance into the living room, and emptying the five boxes which contained the drawers, I was able to see more of the floor in my bedroom. A small accomplishment and the only thing I managed to do in our apartment today.
Other than that, I finished my first hat of the month. Tomorrow, I start another one.
